Marinoble’s East Roseville Kickboxing Program

Our kickboxing classes are designed to teach real kickboxing. Students learn proper punching and kicking technique in a friendly environment without the intimidating atmosphere of a large kickboxing school. We do not require any of our students to fight full contact. The focus for the East Roseville program is for recreation only. Students who choose our program wish to get a great workout, learn something that is interesting, and have fun.

What is Kickboxing?

Kickboxing is a combat sport which blends western boxing with the kicks of martial arts. However, there are many different styles of kickboxing. Each style of kickboxing has its own characteristics and set of rules. Our kickboxing classes teaches techniques from four different rules styles: Full Contact, International, Muay Thai, and San Shou.

The following is a brief description of the rules of each style:

-Full Contact Rules Kickboxing-
All kicks must strike above the waist. Kicking to the legs and striking using the elbows or knees is not allowed.

-International Rules Kickboxing-
Kicks are allowed to strike the legs, body and head. Striking using the elbows or knees is not allowed.

-Muay Thai Rules Kickboxing-

Kicks are allowed to strike the legs, body, and head. Knees and elbows are allowed be used to strike.

-San Shou Rules-
Kicks are allowed to strike the legs, body, and head. Knees are allowed to strike but elbows are not allowed. Throwing your opponent is allowed unlike the other rules styles.

Kickboxing and Fitness

Training in kickboxing is an intense workout each and every time. It is one of the most well rounded forms of excercise. As you start your kickboxing classes your cardiovascular health will increase and you will become less winded each time. You will notice more stamina and your overall feeling of wellbeing will increase. This is a great sign; your heart muscle is getting stronger, will beat more effeciently, and you'll lower your risk for a whole host of diseases (heart disease, diabetes,etc).
